Vacume Cleaners?
Hi everybody , this is just a quick question to anybody who knows about electric motors in vacume cleaners , well somehow I sucked water from my vacume cleaner like 30ml and after that i changed the bag and blow dryied the filters so that its motor wont get burned ,luckly the water didnt get to the motor so it started working but its suction power decreased , ive checked the pipe for any blockadge but it was clear , could any body tell me that what could hapen to an electric motor if moisture seeps into the wiring and do u think the carbon brushes need to be changed to fix the problem ………?
It is possible that the motor is damaged… you should hear a difference in its speed if it has.
If the motor sounds about the same as before… then start looking for places that dirt is stuck and interfering with airflow.
If its one of the uprights using a cloth bag surrounding a paper filter, the cloth bag getting wet can cause microscopic dirt to chang into a mud which hardens and blocks airflow. The bag can be removed from the machine and washed in warm water with mild detergent. Rinse thouroughly then reinstall before its fully dry. Ithey can be hard to get on when dry… much easier when the wet fabric will stretch.
