Ultimate Vacuum Cleaner Project?
Suppose I modify the vaccuum hoze and make a hoze inside a hoze.
Then I recover the vacuum exhaust and vent it through the outer hoze.
The inner hoze would suck, the outer hoze would blow.
Would that create a kind of “vortex” which would reach for the dust then send it back to the vaccuum cleaner.
Thereby reaching hard to get corners, pipes, holes etc.
But, if I use more power, will it reach longer or will the increased sucking compensate for the increased pushing and no matter how powerful I make this system, it will not reach longer.
I want the dust to come to me, I don’t want to have to reach for the dust, I want an air flow to extend from the outer hoze, reach for the dust and then bring it back to the inner hoze.
Is this possible ?
The main problem I see is that much of the air blowing from the outer hose will blow outwards when it hits a surface and carry dust away from the vacuum hose.
I suggest these modifications. Use the same basic design, but use an air compressor to blow air through small nozzles which will create high velocity jets of air which can be directed at the surface AND directed inwards toward the vacuum inlet. Adjust the airflows so that the vacuum pulls in at least as much air as is blowing out the jets so the most dust is caught. The air jets should be strong enough to knock dust loose off a surface or up out of a carpet. This will knock more dust loose and be more efficient than a wide, steady stream of air. If you can make the jets blow pulses of air, it will be even more efficient, ruffling the carpet like a rotating brush. If you can make the jets rotate so that the air blasts the dust from different directions, it has an even better chance of knocking it loose. You want to knock it loose, but not push it deeper into the carpet so you need that vacuum hose in the middle of all the jets.
